Tap a player to start their opponent’s clock.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose a time control

Pick a preset like 5+0 or 3+2, or set your own base time and increment. Both players start with the same time.

  2. 2

    Tap to pass the turn

After your move, tap your side of the clock. Yours stops and your opponent’s starts counting down.

  3. 3

    Watch for the flag

The active clock is highlighted. If a clock reaches zero it flags, showing that player is out of time. Pause or reset any time.

Great for

  • Over-the-board chess at home or a club
  • Blitz and bullet games
  • Other turn-based board games
  • A backup clock when your set has none

This tool runs entirely in your browser, so it starts instantly and keeps working offline once the page has loaded. There is no sign-up, no popups fighting for your attention, and nothing is sent anywhere. Add it to your home screen and it opens like a real app.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between increment and delay?
Increment adds a set number of seconds to your clock after each move, so it is added on top of what you have left. Delay waits a set number of seconds before your clock starts counting down on your turn, without adding time. Both help keep games from being decided purely on speed.
How do I read a time control like 5+3?
The first number is the base time each player starts with in minutes, and the second is the increment in seconds added after every move. So 5+3 means five minutes each, plus three seconds back per move. A control like 3+0 means three minutes with no increment.
Can I pause the game mid-match?
Yes. A pause control stops both clocks so you can step away, and resuming picks up exactly where you left off. Reset returns both clocks to the starting time so you can play again.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded it keeps running with no connection, because the whole tool runs in your browser. You can install it to your home screen and open it like an app.
Do I need an account, and is anything tracked?
No account and no sign-up. The tool runs on your own device, so there is nothing to log in to and your settings stay on your machine. No popups, no clutter.
